Glass Cockpits From Garmin
G900X. When you’re building the perfect plane, you want the best in “big screen” avionics. For your new kit plane, the choice is as clear as glass: the G900X avionics suite, an all-glass panel designed for kit plane builders of the popular Lancair and Van’s RV-series aircraft*. This fully integrated “glass package” puts a wealth of safety-enhancing data at your fingertips. Based around the successful certified G1000 System this is an amazing addition to any aircraft.

Garmin G900X
Similar to the G1000, G900X integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, surveillance, weather and engine sensor data on two 10.4 inch, high-definition LCDs. These big, easy-to-scan glass displays feature wide viewing angles, brilliant color and direct sunlight readability.
The following G900X system components are available on Lancair and Van’s airframes:
•Dual 10.4-inch AMLCD displays — interchangeable for use as PFDs or MFDs
•Fully integrated CNI suite with WAAS-certified GPS and digital HSI standard
•Full reversionary display capability
•Integrated solid state Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)
•Digital air-data computer
•Engine-monitoring display
•16-watt VHF comm transceivers with 8.33 kHz channel spacing
•Digital audio panel with auto-squelch and “instant replay” clearance recorder
•Interfaces for terrain, traffic and weather sensors
•Mode-S transponder with Traffic Information Service (TIS)
•Built-in Safetaxi® with over 650 airport diagrams
•Built-in Worldwide terrain and U.S. obstacle database
•Optional integrated Class-B Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS)
•Optional XM WX satellite weather and XM Radio
•Optional Flight Management System (FMS) controller for simplified data entry
•Supports FliteCharts® electronic charting
•Modular rack-mounted LRUs
•Aircraft-specific mounting brackets for AHRS and magnetometer
•Interface support for most popular kit builder autopilots
The G3X. It’s time to rethink what’s possible in your panel. Now, with Garmin’s G3X system, pilots of experimental/kit built and light sport aircraft are finding they can comfortably afford to fly with the very latest in electronic “glass cockpit” capabilities. Adapting proven technology from Garmin’s top-of-the-line integrated flight deck systems, the G3X offers a full range of upgrade solutions to fit your panel, priorities and budget

Garmin G3X
A Complete Silicon Suite
Designed around the GDU 370/375 series of panel-mount displays, the G3X suite provides an easy-to-install, non-TSO’d option that lets you grow your system as your needs and budget dictate. For example, you can start with a single glass display that combines full primary flight (PFD) attitude/directional guidance with electronic engine monitoring and detailed moving-map multifunction (MFD) capabilities. Then, should you choose to expand your cockpit configureration, you can opt for separate PFD and MFD screens – or even add a co-pilot’s flight display. A built-in network interface allows up to three displays to be interlinked in the panel, with full reversionary backup for added safety and redundancy.
Highly Evolved. Not Highly Expensive
Simplicity meets sophistication in the G3X flight deck. Combining flexible architecture with a G1000-like interface, the multi-tasking GDU features a big 7-inch high-definition WVGA screen, built-in high-sensitivity GPS receiver, rotary joystick cursor control for data entry, redundant power inputs, and soft keys for mode selection. There’s a front-loading SD card slot for easy software and database updates. Plus, a built-in aviation base map helps provide realistic visual reference – identifying cities, roads, rivers, lakes, and other ground features along your flight path. You can choose topographic VFR or airway-style IFR map modes. And for enhanced en route safety, there’s a built-in terrain elevation database that uses color-coding to alert you as you approach potentially hazardous terrain. Both overhead and vertical profile views of this data are graphically depicted on the terrain page. What’s more, by adding a Garmin GTX 330 Mode S transponder, your G3X can even display Traffic Information Service (TIS) alerts to help identify other aircraft in proximity to your position.
Solid-State ADAHRS Makes Gyros Obsolete
The G3X system uses the latest in GPS-aided digital ADAHRS (Air Data and Attitude Heading and Reference Systems). Leveraging solid-state sensors and sophisticated attitude determination and integrity monitoring algorithms used in Garmin’s high-end G1000 system, the G3X’s ADAHRS provides highly accurate and reliable referencing of your aircraft position, rate, vector and accelerationtion data. Better still, the complete sensor package – ADAHRS and EIS engine monitoring¹, plus magnetometer and temperature probe – takes up just a fraction of the space and weight previously required by conventional gyro-based instrument systems.
The G500 Designed as a 6 Pack replacement in certified aircraft the G500 Draws on Garmin's experience with Glass cockpits to produce an excellent combined PFD & MFD, allowing interfaces to the entire Garmin range of products and many others. A Great System and a great price.

Garmin G500
The G500’s 10-inch wide bezel fits neatly into the panel space vacated by your standard six-pack of mechanical 3-inch flight instruments. (In many cases the existing airspeed indicator, artificial horizon and altimeter can be relocated to serve as standby instrumentation.)
Dual 6.5-inch LCDs, mounted side-by-side in the bezel, put both Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multifunction Display (MFD) capabilities directly in your field of view to help streamline instrument scanning. You’ll see real-time True Airspeed calculations and selectable Winds Aloft data – as well as aircraft ground speed, GPS active waypoint, distance-to-waypoint, desired/actual track, and more.
On the left-hand side, the PFD consolidates all primary situational information regarding your aircraft’s position, speed, attitude, vertical rate, altitude and flight progress. For added visual orientation, a scaled version of Garmin’s SVT™ Synthetic Vision Technology is also available as an upgrade option – creating a 3-D “virtual reality” perspective view of flight and enroute terrain features.
It’s all about situational awareness
Looking over to the right side of the G500, the MFD provides detailed moving-map graphics of your aircraft’s current position in relation to ground features, chart data, navaids, flight plan routings and more. Initial Garmin FliteCharts® and SafeTaxi® come pre-installed (the charts will disable when the data is over 6 months out-of-date). And built-in terrain and U.S. obstacles databases provide color-coding and other visual cues to graphically alert you when proximity conflicts loom ahead. G500 operation is simple – with familiar rotary knob for data entry, softkeys for mode selection, front-loading SD card slot for additional data and updates, plus an easy-to-navigate G1000-like graphical user interface.
