Garmin GPS155XL

The GPS 155XL is a panel mounted IFR GPS with moving map presented on a yellow-on-black 1.3"x4.1" DSTN display.

The high resolution display is readable from every angle in all lighting conditions. A photocell in the display automatically controls the intensity of the backlight and will reverse the display to black-on-yellow for maximum contrast. These display properties can also be set manually.

A Jeppesen database (updateable via front loading data cards) contains all airports, VORs, NDBs, Intersections, FSS, Approach, SIDs/STARs, and SUA information.

In comparison with the GPS 400 it lacks the basemap which provides greater situational awareness, and the display is mono rather than colour.
