Improved lateral response
The factory installed autopilot in a Cirrus SR22 utilizes the aileron trim cartridge assembly to execute commands from the autopilot. The roll trim cartridge assembly moves the aileron by compressing the spring inside the assembly. This
creates a “mushy” autopilot roll axis sensation. In contrast, the roll servo upgrade incorporates an independent servo that is directly connected to the aileron
cable providing crisp response to autopilot commands for authoritative control.

No more autopilot restrictions
The roll servo will eliminate a number of limitations previously imposed on the autopilot operation. • Operation in moderate or severe turbulence is approved
• Approach crosswind capability improved to 25 knots
• Full autopilot authority over the range of course deviation
• Improved course intercept capability
• Improvements to glideslope capture

Longer life for roll trim cartridge assembly
Because autopilot commands are executed via the roll servo, the roll trim cartridge assembly is no longer used for autopilot operation. This greatly reduces wear and leads to longer life for the roll trim cartridge assembly.
