Garmin GTX 328
Mode 'S' Transponder
Finding a transponder for your VFR/Class 2 aircraft that will meet European flight regulations without costing an arm and a leg may seem like a daunting prospect. With the release of Garmin’s GTX 328 however, this dilemma is a problem of the past.
The GTX 328 is designed exclusively for a European audience and satisfies the requirement for a Mode S solution for your aircraft. It is a straightforward retrofit and suitable for any VFR/Class 2 aircraft that boasts adequate size and power consumption support for the unit.
There are plenty of features for you to take advantage of when it comes to Garmin’s GTX 328:
- Outside air temperature display;
- Altitude monitoring;
- Density altitude monitors;
- Front panel input for flight ID;
- Count up and count down timers;
- Digitized voice alerting you of timer expiration or when preset altitude limits have been exceeded.
This unit from Garmin does not provide Enhanced Mode S (EHS) or Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) functionality, as the GTX-330 transponder from Garmin does provide these services. However it contains everything that you do need for the reduced certification requirements for the VFR Mode S mandate to meet European flight regulations, along with Garmin’s exceptional reliability, innovation and excellent value for money.
